ALEJANDRO ORTUÑO GETS THE DOUBLE IN LORCA

Around 10:30 in the morning, the starting gun was fired at the more than 4,500 meters that the youth test consisted of, two laps on the designated track. Alejandro was at the top of the race, controlling the race and the pace for more than three kilometers of the race. Calmly he dominated the youth test in which from the beginning he kept his rivals until the last kilometer, at which point he attacked without any response from the rivals, imposing a high pace that led him to victory.

With this last test he was proclaimed champion of the regional title and champion of the individual regional league, he climbed the podium for the third time to pick up the third position for teams in the regional league.

Alejandro Ortuño commented at the end of the test: “Today we have tried to pass the test with minimal wear and tear, since it is important to continue adding to the physical preparation for the rest of the tests that we still have in the winter season. A race that I tried to control with a smooth pace, and save a little for the last section in which I was able to set my pace until the finish line. Very happy for the double and above all to give it to my team, my club and of course my sponsor, since they are making things very easy for me this season”.

For his part, Fran Carpena, his personal trainer: “Alejandro had this week of recovery in his training, he passed the regional championship process with the least possible effort, trying not to overload his legs, achieving our goal as planned for the race. Starting today, we begin five very important weeks for the team, since in three weeks we will travel to the Spanish Cross Country Championship and in the fifth and last week we will end the winter season with the Spanish Indoor Championship in the 1500m test. .l.”
