The Catalan town of Granollers brought together this weekend the best Junior athletes on the national scene.
Alejandro Ortuño, quién debutada en esta categoría, se medía frente a 19 atletas de un magnifico nivel, en la prueba de 3000 obstáculos. Alejandro Ortuño, who debuted in this category, was measured against 19 athletes of a magnificent level, in the 3000 obstacle test. A very tough race dominated from the start by Moroccans El Hocine Bouchrak and Jaouad Hassini, the latter the only athlete with a minimum qualification for the Junior European Championship in Grosseto. Ortuño, who suffered a lot trying not to lose the leading duo, fought until the end to maintain a third position. A heart-stopping final in which El Hocine and Jaouad competed for first and second place, while a brave Alejandro fought with all his might for the third place on the podium. Bronze pin for Alejandro and the first athlete of non-African origin to cross the finish line. Silver for Jaouad Hassini and a well-deserved gold for El Hocine Bouchrak.
