Se trataba de una prueba sin mayor presión, en la que se pretendía conocer el estado de forma del atleta y además asimilar ritmos de competición. It was a test without great pressure, in which it was intended to know the athlete's state of form and also assimilate competition rhythms. After the starting gun, Alejandro was among the best and in the first lap he reached the first position imposing his pace. With a great technique in passing through the obstacles and a powerful stride, Ortuño defined good form at the start of the summer season. The first race of the season was closed, with a time of 6'07” which means direct passage to the Final of the Spanish Championship of 2,000 obstacles, and places it less than four seconds from the minimum mark required in the European Championship. We define this first participation as excellent. A good start that keeps us excited towards achieving the different objectives set. Alejandro Ortuño at the end of the test told us: “Today's magnificent race, in which I found myself perfectly, starting with a high pace from the beginning. In our mind was to get the minimum for the European Championship but we knew that today was not going to be easy at all. We still lack a bit of intensity that we will gain in the following weeks, since the training is based on strengthening and will improve some aspects. In short, very good feelings in this first test”. His coach Fran Carpena: “After the first competition of the season, we were looking for the starting state on the outdoor track. Alejandro has equaled his best race compared to the previous season, transmitting total security and confidence in competition. On the other hand, we have already secured a place in the final of the Spanish championship, in addition to touching the minimum mark for the European. Until the next competition, which will be on May 14, we will continue to work intensely”.
