On the day of last Sunday, the Championship of Spain Cross Country Cadet and Youth by Autonomies was held in Burgos.
Test that includes the best Cross specialists and also the athletes who prepare for the summer season. At 1:30 p.m. the starting signal was given for the Youth event, where Alejandro Ortuño, who was running under the colors of the Murcian team, made a good start, surrounded by more than two hundred athletes who imposed an infernal pace in the 6000 meters of the that the test contained. Alejandro was in the group of the "chosen" during the test, with a good pace that surprised locals and strangers. In the last lap of 1,500 meters, the Malaga native, Ouassin Oumaiz Errouch, together with five cross-country specialists, gave a surprising change in their stride, imposing themselves on the rest, surpassing them by more than 30 seconds. Alejandro rode the entire race at a pace of 3.08 / km, reaching the finish line with a record of 18:46, this time being the fastest achieved by our athlete in this discipline, finishing in a more than meritorious nineteenth position. This test was, without a doubt, one more training session for the summer tests that are really the objective of this season. Alejandro, marched to the Spanish Championship, after being the winner of the Regional Cross in the Lorca test a few weeks ago. The Burgos result, which we can analyze as very positive, since they are not the tests in which our athlete performs better, but we analyze it that way since he competed at a high level throughout the test. Alejandro Ortuño at the end of the competition: “I am really very satisfied, I have felt quite well, but we have suffered a bit from the difference in altitude. The weekend has been really splendid, I've been very comfortable and we've tried not to load our legs too much. Although my goal is the middle distance, these tests are really good for us as a preparation. From here to thank the Murcian Federation for taking care of us, my club the Hotel La Paz- Ada Yeclano and of course my team CABANES & ORTUÑO SPORTS that without them this would be really more difficult. “ For his part, Fran Carpena, Alejandro's coach: “Since the start it has been a very fast race in which the three leading athletes, who are authentic Cross specialists, have imposed a very fast pace of less than 3 minutes per kilometer.
